Our code of conduct
Every practitioner on this platform signs up to these ten commitments, and their page shows the date they did. Most complementary therapies and coaching in the UK are unregulated; this is the standard we hold our practitioners to instead. Break it and they're off the platform.
- I only work within what I've been trained to do, and I say so when something isn't for me.
- I never diagnose, and I never tell anyone to stop or change medication or treatment.
- If someone is in crisis or at risk, I point them to help that day — 999, 111, their GP, Samaritans.
- I keep what clients tell me private, and I keep their records safe.
- I'm honest about what my work can and can't do — no promises, no cure claims, no success rates.
- I tell clients plainly whether I'm qualified or in training, and what that means.
- I charge what I said I'd charge, and I refund when I've cancelled.
- I treat every client with respect and keep professional boundaries: no sexual or romantic contact with a client, no touching without asking first, and I stop the moment they ask me to.
- I don't work with under-18s without a parent's written agreement.
- I keep my details on this platform true and up to date — including insurance and qualifications.
If you're worried about your safety, or something happened in a session that shouldn't have, use "Report a concern" on the practitioner's page — it comes straight to us, not to the practitioner — or call the police (999 in an emergency, 101 otherwise). For anything else, talk to the practitioner first; if that doesn't sort it, email noreply@practitioner.org.uk. How we keep clients safe.
