How much does a therapist website cost in the UK?

It depends on how you build it. A designer build is usually a one-off project quote, a DIY builder is a monthly fee plus a booking add-on, and an all-in-one plan like Practitioner is £9.99 a month with the website included.

Three ways to get a website

  • A web designer. Prices vary widely with the number of pages, the design and the writing. Always ask for a written quote and what happens to hosting, updates and the domain afterwards.
  • A DIY builder. You pay a monthly plan and then add booking, forms and payments as extras.
  • An all-in-one system. Website, booking and payments sit in one monthly plan.

Real monthly prices for 2026

As listed on each company's own site in November 2026:

Note that a booking add-on, a domain after the first year, and any extras come on top of the plan price.

What drives the cost

  • Who writes the words and takes the photos.
  • Whether booking and payments are built in.
  • Your own domain name.
  • How many pages you need, and how often you change them.
  • Who looks after updates and security.

Questions to ask before you pay

  1. Is booking included or an extra bill?
  2. Do I own the domain and the content?
  3. What does it cost after the first year?
  4. Can I leave and take my site with me?

Ask for the full price in writing, including anything that renews each year. Compare like with like: the same pages, the same booking and the same domain. If a quote is far higher or lower than the others, ask what is different before you decide.

Hidden costs to watch for

The monthly price is only part of it. Look for a charge for your own domain after the first year, extra fees for booking or payments, a fee to remove the builder's branding, and a higher plan if you want to sell digital products. If a designer builds your site, ask who pays for hosting, who can edit it afterwards and whether you pay again for each change.

Time is a cost too. A site you can edit yourself in ten minutes costs less than one you need to email someone to change.

More questions

Can I get a website for free?

You can build a basic site free on some tools, but check what is included. Booking, payments and your own domain are often extras.

Do I need to pay for a domain?

A free address works at first. Your own domain is usually a small yearly cost and looks more professional.

Is a designer worth it?

It can be, if you want a fully custom look. For many solo therapists a good template with your own words does the job.
